This drawing was based on this poem, originally to be giving to some friends as a weding present. I mounted it badly and decided not to give it to them, but the design is still lovely. I love the poem and plan to either redo the piece, have prints made, or remount it one of these days. Silly me for using carpenter's glue -- pretty permanent stuff, that! -AE

After six of the best four years of my life getting a BA in linguistics at Harvard College, I'm working as a freelance violist/bassist and painter in Ithaca, NY. Traveling the world, working as a canoe guide in Northern Minnesota, and architecture school have been known to distract me once in a while. You can also contact me about music gigs in the Southern Tier of the Finger Lakes Region -- my string quartet will be happy to fulfill your every musical need! -AE aara@post.harvard.edu

A CONCEIT
Give me your hand
Make room for me
to lead and follow
you
beyond this rage of poetry.
Let others have
the privacy of
touching words
and love of loss
of love.
For me
Give me your hand.
